Soil to Soul parliamentarians cooking series

In anticipation of the election year 2015, Furrer Hugi, in collaboration with various partners and chef Robert Speth, created a cookbook. Thirty-two parliamentarians or candidates participated in cooking sessions with Robert Speth over 15 evenings, resulting in the "Parlamentarier-Kochbuch; Kochen für Freunde" (Parliamentarian Cookbook; Cooking for Friends).

Looking ahead to the election year 2023, Furrer Hugi, in partnership with us, is launching a new edition of the Parliamentarian Cookbook. This time, the setting will be adjusted: there will be 10 cooking evenings with Martin Göschel planned, following the Soil to Soul principles. Each evening will feature a different menu, with recipes created by Martin Göschel and adhering to the highest sustainability standards. We aim to minimize the carbon footprint of the ingredients and reduce food waste through innovative concepts such as "Nose to Tail" and "Leaf to Root." While the focus is on vegetables, Ivo will also incorporate meat and fish into his recipes. We want to demonstrate that healthy eating and sustainability can go hand in hand, and that each of us can contribute to preserving our environment.

Instead of compiling the experiences of the evenings into a physical cookbook, they will be documented online by Gault Millau.

Why is Soil to Soul the main partner of this cooking series?

Through these cooking events, we aim to raise awareness for our movement and the importance of our soil in the economy, in politics and in society. We want to show participating politicians, as well as guests and readers, that indulgence does not mean sacrificing responsibility and that conscious and healthy eating plays a significant role. By being more mindful of our nutrition, we contribute to preserving our soils. In doing so, we restore the significance of soil for climate and the well-being of humans and animals.
