Prof. Dr. Adrian Egli

Prof. Adrian Egli is a clinical microbiologist and researcher. He has previously worked at the University Hospital Basel, the University of Basel, and the University of Alberta in Canada. Since August 2022, he has been the Director of the Institute for Medical Microbiology at the University of Zurich. His research focuses on host-pathogen interactions in various infectious diseases. Prof. Egli and his team utilise the latest technologies, such as whole-genome sequencing of individual bacteria and the microbiome, to assess the risks of antibiotic resistance development and virulence.
