18:30 - 19:30

Just over a decade ago, Thomas Snellman developed a simple yet powerful idea in Finland: a direct marketing system that connects producers and consumers without intermediaries. What began as a local initiative has since spread to numerous countries. In his keynote, Snellman explains why regional networks are essential for building resilient food systems. He tells the story of REKO, explores how the model grew into a successful grassroots movement, and shows how fair, direct food purchasing can become part of everyday life.
