Switzerland is a land of dairy, with the cow as our national animal. Just like wild animals and other ruminants, it consumes grass that humans cannot digest, thus avoiding competition for food with humans. However, cultivating animal feed on arable land is unsustainable, lacks future viability, and certainly isn't environmentally sustainable for future generations. By allocating arable land predominantly to plant-based foods for humans, we can generate significantly more calories. Arable land for humans, pasture for animals! A modern circular economy without food competition serves the well-being of humans, animals, and the environment, ensuring our food security as a whole.
